This is a wonderful chance to visit a Portuguese wine cellar and learn all about the famous Cálem port wines. Located in Vila Nova de Gaia, in the Douro Valley, the Cálem tour takes you on a journey throughout the intricate process of producing one of the world's most famous port wines.
Tours are conducted in several different languages, which you will be able to select from and occur in the evening every day of the week. Your Cálem wine experience will being with a tour of the Cálem cellars, you will learn about the production and ingredients that these ports comprise of.
The Cálem tour will take through the interactive museum, which beautifull combines tradition along with modern technology. Your guide will be at hand to answer any questions that you may have. After completing the Cálem cellar tour, you will then have the opportunity to taste some of the delicious products that the cellars produce, including the Cálem fine white as well as the Cálem ten years old Tawney. Your host will guide you through how to distinguish the flavours of the Cálem ports as well as teaching you how to take in the aromas and colours.
On conclusion of your Cálem port wine tasting experience in Portugal, you will then be able to enjoy a fabulous Fado show.
Please be aware that Cálem is an historic winery and there is restricted access.
