Visit Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage and the Temple of Tooth!
You will be collected from your hotel (in Colombo city) or in front of Dutch Hospital -Colombo 01 by our chauffeur guide at 07:00 and commence the day tour to Kandy. First you will be taken to the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, where the largest herd of captive elephants in the world is cared for. In Pinnawla you are able to see the milk feeding to baby elephants and the herd taken to the river for a bath.
After the memorable experience with elephants at Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage you will be transferred to take your tour of Kandy, along the way you will stop at a Spice Garden where you will be introduced different spices of Sri Lanka and see how the spices are grown, harvested and produced. Then have lunch at a local restaurant (your expense).
After visiting Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage and Spice Garden, your transfer continues for your Kandy tour and visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic (Sri Dalada Maligawa). This is one of the most sacred and important place for Buddhists. You will be able to see the room where the tooth relic is kept and many other places including Aluth Maligawa, Audience Hall and the World Buddhism Museum.
Thereafter, the Pinnawala and Kandy tour commences to the sightseeing of Kandy City including Kandy Lake, View Point, Kandy City Center and Kandy Market. Next, you will be taken to visit Gem Museum, a wood carving shop and a silk shop.Then proceed to a tea factory where you can taste variety of Ceylon teas and see how these teas are produced in the factory.
On completion of the Kandy Tour, you will transfer back to Colombo dropped off at your hotel or at the place where you picked up.
